The reason she is at the top of her profession is because she is not only very, very skilled, but she has the most impeccable bedside manner, the deepest empathy for her patients and the most humble and open disposition. I had to wait a long time before the first intake session happened, but waiting for her and getting the procedure done through her, was well worth the time. I am even taking time in the middle of my workday to take this survey, because I want all prospective patients to know how excellent she is!

Dr. Lester is far beyond very good. She is EXCELLENT. This is one of the most impressive encounters I have had with the physician at any time. Dr Lester not only addressed the issue I came in for but she took the time to observe a problem I have and diagnosed it. I will be going back for follow-up care on the problem that she diagnosed unexpectedly on this day. I had asked many times over the years what certain symptoms were and I was told inadequate or incorrect information. Dr Lester not only observed it but after obtaining my permission she told me I had another condition that was actively present. I am beyond grateful for Dr. Lester. This physician is remarkably outstanding in knowledge, communication skills, temperament, and patient relations. I remain in disbelief that she not only Provided me with the same day appointment for the acute matter and resolved it but she also took the time to make an observation and give me a Diagnosis that required medication and a follow-up. I've been seeking this correct Diagnosis for years. What a remarkable physician. Hopefully with Dr Lester's care my skin condition will let the very least be stabilized. Again, this physician is exemplary in all categories you asked me about and much more.

Dr. Lester is the VERY BEST doctor at UCSF Health. I have never had a more attentive and caring doctor in my entire life. I always enjoy our conversations and leave feeling heard, seen and understood. She is a joy to see every six month!!! UCSF is so fortunate to have her practicing there.

Dr. Lester was generally great but we had a lot to cover and she was running behind, which may have resulted in her providing less information that I needed on how to apply the medications she prescribed

I am very happy with the care I am receiving from my care provider. She is very through and the treatment she prescribed are working very well.

Care provider forgot to address if I have rosacea. She did body review to check for skin cancer. Still haven't received After Visit Summary, which will include SPF she recommends.

Listened and addressed root cause

Dr Lester was Outstanding!! Discussed the procedure again with me before starting and talked with me while doing the procedure so I knew what was going on) what I may feel. The procedure was painless and I was comfortable. Also appreciated discussion of after care with Dr Lester and info nurse/assistant gave me. Appreciate personable characteristics Dr Lester has in getting to know me. I am thrilled she is my dermatologist with so much knowledge and experience with people of color like me in addition to other cultural groups.

Dr. Lester is so professional, smart and a lovely person!

Waiting for over 30 minutes but talked to the doctor for less than 10 minutes made me feel a little bit upset, and I didn't see the doctor logging in to the system to review my medical record, or typing notes, and I didn't see after visit notes on mychart. It's like a paid Q and A session, but sometimes patient doesn't know what questions to ask, may be she can be more proactive and give more suggestions, for example, I said my skin was itchy, she can suggest how to relief the itchiness or at least check if I was prescribed any medications by other doctors, etc.

Dr. Lester is wonderful, but I don't think it will be feasible in the future to drive so far, pay so much, speak with an exchange instead of the clinic, and deal with the terrible traffic.

Took extra time

Despite having written in the visit notes that the assessment and plan were reviewed, I wasn't given any information about the cyst, nor about the benefits, risks and alternatives to the surgical excision.The provider just referred me to derm surgery and told me to let her know if the inflammation didn't go away before the derm surgery appointment.

A bit brusque and had a level of what I consider unreasonable expectation about my knowledge regarding my medications. Asked me questions that should have been obvious from the file on this issue. Dates of biopsies and outcomes. Exact dosages of medications I'm taking. Not information I keep at my fingertips, and fully documented in my file.
